Before you feed a downtown parking meter, read this

The tower sits at 101 9th Avenue SW, pinned between the Fairmont Palliser hotel, the rail corridor, and the downtown office core. Opening hours and admission rates shift between summer and winter schedules, and the operator sets them on their official website. What never changes is the geometry of the block.

Approaching the core. If your hotel is anywhere between 3rd Street East and 11th Street West, leave the car parked and use the 7th Avenue transit corridor.

The C-Train trick (free along 7th Avenue)

Two blocks north of the tower runs 7th Avenue SW, where both the Red Line and Blue Line light-rail trains run at street level. Every station along 7th Avenue between City Hall and Downtown West/Kerby is inside Calgary's Free Fare Zone — you can hop on and off inside downtown without buying a ticket. Check route maps on Calgary Transit if you are coming in from the suburbs. Get off at Centre Street station and walk two blocks south.

If you insist on driving

Weekday daytime parking around 9th Avenue is priced for oil-company expense accounts, not families. Surface lots next to the rail tracks charge steep hourly rates and hand out tickets the minute your receipt expires. If you drive in:

Timed entry and how long to budget

A normal visit takes 60 to 75 minutes: ten minutes through the lower lobby and lift queue, sixty-two seconds up, forty minutes doing the full circle of the deck and waiting your turn for a photo on the glass ledge, sixty-two seconds down. If you book a table at the revolving restaurant (SKY 360), budget two hours and confirm with the restaurant directly whether your meal includes elevation.
